Finally - Our New Shell Comes Home

Having delayed our departure for the sunny south, we were finally able to go pick up the new coach shell on Nov. 9th. What a thrill to finally get it home. We spent the next day admiring it and showing it off to friends & family. Then it got put away in our shed for the winter.

Almost Ready To Bring Home

By the end of October, we were getting worried that the shell wouldn't be done before we headed south for the winter. We went down to the shop on November 1st to see how things were going and to "light a fire" under Chuck (the owner of Cobra) to make sure the coach would be ready to bring home before the 10th of November.

The Next Step

Our next step was to find a company that could build the shell with 2 slide-outs. Our plans to have the same company who built the shell on our 2002 coach do our new coach fell through when their shop got too busy to schedule our project. (If we had received the truck in February when we were supposed to, this shop could have built the shell.)

Luckily, we discovered Cobra Motorhomes & Trailers Inc. in Ontario, NY. We had them install a slide-out in our 2002 coach and were happy with the work so contracted them to build the shellof the new coach.

The Beginning

April 17, 2008

This was the day that Noel had eagerly anticipated for almost a year.

This was the day that we thought would never arrive after learning that the Volvo factory had gone on strike in early January, just days before this truck was scheduled to start down the assembly line!

This was the day that we finally picked up our brand, new, beautiful 2009 Volvo truck.

This was the day we finally
took our perfectly good, brand new truck home.
Within days we had started tearing it apart so that we could re-make it into a Custom Coach!
